About an hour's drive from where I live is the largest open plan zoo in the world (so they claim) and two baby giraffes have been born there in the last two weeks. I was surprised to learn that giraffes are now listed as a threaten species; so it's good to see the breeding programme is working well, with more babies due in the next few months.
