How do I edit CPR files?

    Hey folks,

I want to edit an existing paper texture "Essential Canvas" but I don't know what it's native dimensions are. That is to say, it's a tile and I want to open up a canvas at the proper width and height so I can enlarge it properly.

    Thanks for the help!

Good question. Surprised no one answered as I'm sure others are curious...

When you say “edit” what exactly are you wanting to do to the file?
As I understand them the .cpr file just contains instructions on how AR should use/display a Grain image. And you can change the grain image used to whatever you want in the Canvas Settings panel.
The Grain image used for the ‘Essential Canvas’ is ‘Canvas Grain.png’ and is 512x512px @300dpi.
On a Mac it can be found by; Right click AR app > Show Package Contents > Contents > Resources > Grains > Canvases.
If you intend to alter the image I strongly recommend editing a copy of the file not the original!

    In Windows for me it's - C:\Program Files\Ambient Design\ArtRage 4\Resources\Grains\Canvases
    June.

Oh God of homeless things, look down
And try to ease the way
Of all the little weary paws
    That walk the world
    today.
