Beautiful! Really first rate.
Love the way you blurred the crowd. Very effective.
But who won? I've heard of a photo finish in racing, but not an illustrated one.

Thanks, D Akey. Sad to say neither won. The Ferrari had qualified on pole with Mark Donohue at the wheel, but didn't finish due to a failure in the steering gear. The Porsche driven by Jo Siffert ended up second to the winning Alfa Romeo. They put on a good race though and these were 2 car/driver combinations that were giants of their era.

Wow, that's a great picture. Must very satisfying after all these years to finally get it down on 'canvas' and re-live the moment.
The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing!

Beautiful painting....Love this very much....
Wow this is really a nice work. you have so expertly blended a painterly background with the sharp work around the F1 racers
really excellent work!..
Thanks very much, I'm trying to get a bit looser with less important elements of compositions. For this painting, I tried taking a cue from two of my favorite illustrators, Michael Turner and Wilf Hardy.

First off, I love Watkins Glenn. Second--- in a word-- fabulous!
Really, I love this. From the cars to the people in the background, this is wonderful.
