    1971 Watkins Glen 6 Hour

I'm starting a painting in ArtRage based on photos that I took at the 1971 running of the Watkins Glen 6 Hour endurance race. That period in racing was a time of contests between some legendary cars and drivers. In this case, it's the Porsche 917K of Jo Siffert versus the Ferrari 512M of Mark Donohue. I'm trying to do this one as if I were using gouache, so I will have to do some experimenting with brush settings.

Very detailed work - looking good.
    June.

Oh God of homeless things, look down
And try to ease the way
Of all the little weary paws
    That walk the world
    today.

Thanks eighty+, I'll take a look at his work. I gave up on F1 years ago. Used to go to the USGP at Watkins Glen every year while it lasted. Now I go to the vintage racing events to relive old times.

The Penske 512M is pretty much done (unless I spot an error later). On to the Gulf 917K .

Love it! Very unique and fun!
Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures.
