    Help with format

My mother is trying to publish a kindle picture book and I'm trying to help her here. The cover is uploaded sideways because for some reason when I open it, it is sideways and it is saved sideways. How do I change the whole thing to stand up straight so I can upload it properly?

Sorry Mark, I'm sure you'll get the help you need here on the forum but not without more in the way of background/explanation. How does Artrage come into it? Was the cover of the e-book created in Artrage? Slow down and take it from the beginning and we're sure to reach a solution eventually!

Right! I guess You saved the cover somehow (PNG, JPEG, TIFF) after doing it in Artrage and everything looks fine. The format there depends on the page size and resolution.
What is then required to change it into a kindle book format is out of my experience, but I'm sure someone may help You, even not a Forum attendant I think, if this is not an Artrage problem, I mean a downstream one.
If it were a matter to start from a Word written bok, for instance, to take the cover on a page and resizing it to fit it's just simply draw the image into the document, select and resize.
Then You may save and turn the whole book in PDF, including the cover.
    Panta rei (everything flows)!

A few years back I made some ebooks. However, there are 2 ways of going about it - either do it from scratch yourself or upload your work to a book site like eg Blurb or Lulu. Which tack is your mum taking?

I did mine from scratch but I did a lot of online research on how and because there are a lot of different file formats eg pdf, epub, mobi to be opened on different devices, I found it a bit difficult.

If she's on a website, I would suggest looking at their FAQ or help section. I do remember there is a trick to making an image portrait orientation instead of landscape. On the other hand, she can google her question. There is a ton of help online.
