I use an actual ruler just laid over my tablet for doing straight lines, hovering my stylus over points to ensure my placement of my ruler is correct, my lines are naturally imperfect due to variations in pen pressure across the mark. The built in ruler in stencils functions similarly to this but is more time consuming and digital of an input, feels less natural simply because of starting and stopping adjustments of the straight edge as opposed to setting and measuring the point locations at the same time. Would love to see touch input detection for adjusting the ruler positioning WHILE hovering my stylus (iPad Pro allows for double active inputs simultaneously, fairly certain wacom tablets and other such input devices do not currently).
As for your deformation of last stroke, that's a great idea, it could be a nice way to expand on the stencils toolset, which feels limited in usage applications (though potentially really powerful).
