    Newbie: Some of my work...

    Hey folks... newbie here!
I just wanted to say hello, introduce myself and some of my work.

I'm Mike. I've been drawing for years but recently started using ArtRage and am now solely producing digital art.
I'd love to know what you all think.

    All the best,
    Mike

There's more of my work here - also prints are coming soon!

Nice and direct painting. Giving each mark a purpose allows for a simplification and getting to the point fast. Makes for a good skill for visualization. Also, there's a swash and bravura quality to them, which is appropriate to give a glamour sashay, "she's all that" vibe. Could be cheap and brusque, or taken to a high level of posh glamour. Each level of approach could be modified to suit a different end point. Usually when edited down this much every mark counts, every color choice and so on. But all these are within a style which shows consistency which would show a potential client pretty clearly what to expect. I like it.

    Thank you!
Some very kind words and comments on the style.
It rarely strays like you said (although I did start as a cartoonist!) Whether I'm using natural tones or overly colourful ones.

    I'm glad you liked them.

awesome paintings. I like how you exagerate some features without making them look cheesy,eg eye lashes, and how casually simple yet effective the brush-stylus strokes look.

That's what art's about, isn't it -- at some point it's about the relationship between the art and the viewer, sort of like speed dating. (D Akey)
