Early start to bushfire season
A fire has been burning near here since it broke out on Wednesday - it's almost under control but sadly two lives were lost and tens of thousands of livestock perished. This is an agricultural area so major crop and grain losses have occurred. The fires surrounded a number of small towns and homes were lost. The fire was travelling at an estimated 50kmph and as we live only 30k's from the southern edge of the fire before a wind change took it in another direction we feel so lucky. The attached screen shot shows the area of the fire and it's proximity to Gawler, where we are.
June.
Oh God of homeless things, look down
And try to ease the way
Of all the little weary paws
That walk the world
today. - Unknown.

I'm glad for you that the wind changed.
