    Cool Surface Pro 4 announced

    http://www.theverge.com/2015/10/6/94...e-release-date
...Panos Panay introduced the Surface Pro 4 by reminding us how transformative this line of devices has already been: "This challenge of the tablet and the laptop... which do you buy? Remember that problem? It's gone." There's a fingerprint sensor on the keyboard and Cortana integration inside the new tablet, which fits a 12.3-inch display in the same physical footprint as the older 12-inch device. The Surface Pro 4 is therefore compatible with existing keyboard accessories, though Microsoft has done a ton to upgrade its keyboard covers this year. And yes, there's an all-new Surface Pen as well, which also has an eraser on the end of it. The new pen has 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity and attaches magnetically to the side of the Surface Pro 4 when not in use. It comes in a variety of colors and even has Cortana integration: you can activate Microsoft's voice assistant by holding the button on the stylus...

I've looked very hard but I can't see any buttons on the side of the new pens barrel. The pro 3 pen had two buttons, and although not customisable could trigger a useful right click in ArtRage. For the pro 4 I was hoping for a couple of buttons that were customisable so I could assign something like an undo or a colour picker to them. I found a workaround for the pro 3 in that I could map the volume controls to shift and alt which work surprisingly well.

Also I hope they have managed to sort out the Wifi issues they had with the pro 3. Having just bought a pro 3 I was slightly disappointed that my Wifi kept dropping off and wouldn't always connect from sleep or even boot. After much trawling of the web this is a much reported issue with no notable solutions, so after a lot of trial and error I worked out that the basic install of 8.1 and disabling any updates remedied the issue.

    It is pretty though

    The stylus

The new Surface Pen is significantly changed from the Surface Pro 3’s pen. The body of the pen is no longer uniformly circular, but contoured with flat, perhaps even slightly concave, sides where the user is expected grip the pen. The pen is noticeably bigger and more substantial, or at least it feels that way. Highly subjective, but the pen felt slightly heavier than its predecessor as well, but by no means offensive in any way. And it still maintains what I feel is a proper, even weight balance throughout the pen. The pen body is a significant improvement.

Other changes include the positioning of the buttons. The third generation pen had two plainly visible supplementary buttons on the side of the pen. I say plainly visible because with the new pen, there’s only one on the side, and you wouldn’t realize its there by looking at first glance. Examine closely the image below...

...With the new pen, the eraser function is on top, built into a rubbery nib designed to emulate a real eraser...OH. MY. GOODNESS. GRACIOUS. It feels so close to an actual eraser that if you blindfolded someone, he/she probably couldn’t tell it was a digital pen. It is an euphoric tactile sensation. It has the perfect amount of resistance against the Surface Pro 4’s screen that erasing with it is actually REALLY FUN...

Thanks for the information, very interesting, I would be happy with a single button for a right click.

If anyone is interested, see the Dropbox link below for an autohotkey compiled script that maps the volume up and down on the Surface Pro 3 to the Shift and Alt keys respectively so that the brush can easily be resized and the colour picker is immediately available. It also maps the haptic windows key to show the colour adjust popup in ArtRage.

No other software should be needed to run this as it was compiled using autohotkey. It will only be enabled when ArtRage is running so the volume and windows buttons will function normally when not using ArtRage.

I have put this script in my windows start up folder so it will run up when I log in. See below for the link :
