Display angle of constrained line (suggestion)

When constraining a line by holding down the Ctrl key, I would find it useful to see what the angle is. This would be helpful when sketching cube like structures to keep angled lines parallel. Obviously you can set the angle and use a ruler, but dragging out the line and dynamically seeing the current angle would be quicker.



Anyway, many thanks for a wonderful program. If you could just get it to smell like pencils it would be perfect. :D

ps any new features to help drawing perspective lines would also be brilliant.

In the meantime, perhaps a visual aid might suffice? Since the Ctrl+shift drag constraint feature works with the Fill Tool, as well, if we load a pattern into the Fill tool we can guide which direction the fill is laid out. So by loading an image of a single line as a pattern, we can lay out a directional aid on a new layer. Then, by holding ctrl + Shift to make our lines, we can ensure the lines are correct, as they should fall parallel to the guides. Below, you'll see an example experiment I made (the pattern fill lines are the red lines), along with the image I created as my line pattern for the fill tool.

Wow thank you, what a clever idea! I'm actually away from my PC right now (gone fishing!), but I'll definitely give that a go when I get back tomorrow evening - if I haven't strained my arms too much

Thanks again for the tip. I found in addition to using Ctrl + Shift, just using the patterned fill as a guide and rough sketching on another layer is also useful.
