Hi! I'm new to digital painting (to be honest I've never used oil paint in real life either, only acrylics in art class) and I was wondering if I could get some tips on this painting. I'm very happy with how the bird turned out, but I'm not too sure about the rocks or the background. I want the rocks to look more realistic, and while I know I want a purple gradient background, it seems a little dull to me. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you so much!!
One thing that can add a great amount of interest to a painting is a strong sense of light. If you don't mind a paint-over I can easily present my thoughts visually. In a paint-over, I or someone like me, would take a few minutes and paint our suggestions over the top of the image you are asking about. I find that for me it is a strong way to give genuine, clear feedback to help people grow in their artistic pursuits. I will always ask for permission to do such work as I want to extend the utmost respect to each artist. If you are interested in having me take a few minutes out and give you my thoughts in this way just PM me (so I get an email calling my attention to it) and I will be happy to make that happen.
Fashmir- Thank you for offering to help! Unfortunately I'm sharing a computer right now, so I don't think that would really work for me. But I appreciate the offer!! Thank you!
