    June.

Oh God of homeless things, look down
And try to ease the way
Of all the little weary paws
    That walk the world
    today.

10 hours?!?!?!? Egad! Makes you think about walking. . . since all roads lead to Rome and all . . .

What an adventure. Right you have 10 hours. . . paint, woman! That's why God created layovers. . . so you can find time to paint. Plain and simple. Looks like the airport provided some floral models for you.

Say hi to Caesar. . . unless he's stuck in some other airport.

    Woohooo!!!!!!

    Go June Go!!!!!

A couple more - mountains over Greece and view of the valley below Assisi.

The internet is slow here in Herzegovina so it Is difficult to comment on the postings - loving them all, especially the flowers.

What a contrast. Looks like you got into the air and should now be somewhere in Rome? The internet should be better there. Envy is seeping in. . . Kind of makes you want to just knock out one of the walls in the Vatican and have it shipped home as a souvenir mural. Raphael has been stuck in Italy far too long.

    Have fun!!!!!!!!

St. Peter's Square and general audience with the Pope. After driving around he spoke to the crowd from a canopied dais in front of the Basilica - as you can see, I was too slow and he had turned away before I got the photo. Photos of the crowd in front and behind us and of course the Swiss guard.

Our hotel is just about a block away and as you can imagine situated in a very old building. The traffic here is crazy and you risk your life every time you try to cross the road even on pedestrian crossings - the only place where it is possible to cross. Lots of illegal street vendors, mainly Africans and Indians/Pakistanis (?) selling copy handbags, selfie sticks and shawls.

Haven't run into Caesar yet. The coffee is wonderful and a lot cheaper we have found if you drink it standing at a bar.

Leaving tomorrow on a tour of southern Italy but back in Rome again for a few days before heading home.

The Internet's been slow here in southern Italy so I haven't been able to upload any photographs. However here in Amalfi it seems to be a little better so here are a few pictures. one of them is a view with Vesuvius in the background, another taken from our balcony late in the afternoon when the moon had just risen, the next one is also from the balcony of our room taken a few moments ago, with the town of Amalfi in the lower left.

We have really been enjoying our holiday here in Italy and especially Sorrento, Capri and now Amalfi. Just a beautiful part of the world. We also visited Naples and Pompeii which was so interesting and somewhere I had always wanted to visit.
