the star of this picture has to be the sky..........................the land is quite barren...................it used to be the sea a couple of million years back...............but things change don't they?

And what a sky it is!!! Very awesome! got me really working on pumping out landscapes myself now too, though I'm going to continue the work I've been doing on my cat these past couple nights.

As many of your paintings as I've seen and admired – – and even been shocked into awe by, I may like this one the best. I'm not sure why exactly, perhaps it's because you've pushed the drama into a higher register. If your other paintings were like Mozart, this one is more like Beethoven.

I really like the the warm colors powering into the very placid scene, almost like a divine entrance. It speaks of two different levels to me. And the difference that comes when the two are mixing. It's also analogous to that dramatic dinner presentation of a fiery flambé on sparkling silver. You know you're getting the food, but the presentation is so powerful and alludes to so much about cooking, and a bit of magic, and controlling the elements like a touch of Merlin in the mix. This painting is a bit of a flambé style it's riveting, even though there's a mellowness to it. Love the strokes and colors. Bravo!
