    Contraband (Finished).

I have finished as far as I want to go, detailing could be taken further but it doesn't make a great deal of difference after the stage I have reached here, and becomes boring to anyone who was following the progress in the earlier pictures, anyway thank you for looking at my work, regards to all ....Jack.

I'm quite taken with it too, Jack! Really sensational finish, like you copped the boodle, ye old privateer. . . even though it's clearly really nice painting, there is so much detail in it that it almost feels like daguerreotype early, early photograph of folks in their natural setting. It has that kind of an energy to it as if I'm looking at something that really existed in remote time and place a window into that world as it were. Congratulations on the technique and a very ambitious composition with its selection of characters and props.

Go man go! There's plenty more where that came from, I've no doubt. . .

    Hello Pete,
I have you to thank for a lot of tips and tricks especially with painting the sea, I saw how you did it, tried it out, and sometimes still use it for sea in certain conditions, still remember your " Good morning Captain" That picture is one of yours that I can still remember, nice sailing ship and nice sea, lots of other stuff too, thanks for looking in Peter, good to see your still going strong....Jack.

    Mr D Akey,
Hello D, thanks for coming in on the thread, I hadn't really finished on that picture but I picked up some canvas grain and some spurious abberations ( And you can't buy them at shops) so I called it a day, I didn't feel like sorting all that out so I blurred it very slightly and used noise reduction, so its not that obvious, serves me right for not doing all the picture in PNG, part done in J-peg so that's where the problem came from( I Think), yes quite pleased with the final outcome not toooo bad, thanks for replying D , appreciated .....Jack.
