    Leprechaun

There's a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow,( or so they say), but it shifts as fast as the person looking for it, anyway its always guarded by a Leprechaun and they are very vicious, if someone tries to take their gold, they are likely to whip out a shilaylee and bop you with it...This one gave me the evil eye just for looking at the old crock, I didn't want the evil eye so I gave it back to him.( couldn't spell shillayley either!)...Regards to all.

    Hope you like the picture....Jack.

Jack my dear old friend :-). I love your stories. Nice expression on his face or rather very stern. Good to see you.

You're ripe 'n' ready for an illustrated novel, my dear. What a powerful illustration! But where's the rainbow?

You do these painting so well. He's a big leprechaun - I wouldn't try to take the gold either!

I can tell that he needs the bumper sticker that was popular in the 1970s:
    I'd Rather Be Sailing

He has a rather far off look, like staying at home, tending the pot o' gold leaves something still to be desired in the heart of a lepri-con artist. . . Sure'n not a rainbow in sight, too.

Very clean painting, Jack, making it all the more inviting to experience the tale. He could be a bit like the old story teller, with golden tales to tell of pirates and knights and daring do. A wee bit of a self portrait in the story telling department, innit?

I like the additions! Love the rainbow and the red nose is a particularly apropos, hahahaha.

So these are samples of what they had here in California back in the 1970s. It was one of those cultural icons of the era = sailing was the first one I saw of the "I'd rather be. . ." And it was no doubt to tell other commuters stuck in traffic what they would rather be doing more than crawling along the super-crowded freeways. Plus it was an opening for other devotees of the sport.

Anyway, I figured with all your passion for pirates and ships-o-the-line era sailing vessels that you could unfurl your true colors on your bumper.

Anyway, love the additions to the pic, and that's a great rainbow effect. Nice and luminous.

(I grabbed these pics from the internet.)
