Bertil on the way to his vacation

As almost always it started out as some scribbling on a piece of paper. This was actually some years ago. I was planning a story (Bertil), wich never made the whole way... I just happend to find the pic somewhere in my sketches fodler on my harddrive. I tuned it blue for easy tracing. Next step will be some colours... and then a background.

I have started adding som colour to my lineart... Tomorrow I will start adding the background before i finish the foreground. I have to make it all a unit, unite the colours, the style, work out the lights and shadows and Everything else that is important for the over all impression / expression...

I have started making the background. I am testing texture and color overlays (to be adjusted). At the same time I make some adjustment to the details and such.
To be worked on next day...

I made a change, a blue car instead. And some minor Changes. I had just a little time for painting today...

I leave it like this. It is about how I wanted it to be. All made in ArtRage using my desktop computer and the Wacom Intous.

I really like this style, reminds me of Richard Scarry and Dr Suess books!

Such a lot to look at in this illustration. Great work!
    June.

Oh God of homeless things, look down
And try to ease the way
Of all the little weary paws
    That walk the world
    today.
