    Dwarf Hibiscus

This is a dwarf hibiscus inspired by a photograph I took in our garden. I really struggled with the light in this painting. I may have made it too dark. The original photo had lots of bokeh effects which, I felt, just didn't fit with the painting.
Like Javier I have also spent some time recently with photography and have a gallery over at Flickr. If you would like to look you will see the photo used as a reference for this painting. https://www.flickr.com/photos/vandradesigns/

A very vibrant image - I like the flowing sweeps of colour on the petals.
    June.

Oh God of homeless things, look down
And try to ease the way
Of all the little weary paws
    That walk the world
    today.

Vandra, a beautiful painting I love the composition and the delicate articulation of color and shapes to the petals..

    Thank you justjean and Pai.

justjean, I wanted to paint the water pump and I played with just a couple of filters on the photograph, and decided that I like this version too
