ArtOrder Colour and Texture Art Challenge - Who do You like the most (three)

I would propose an alternate votation among Artragers.
... apart from this Forum attendees (three of us, if I'm not wrong, Rachelle, Bobbi and myself), which are the paintings You would have selected for the first, second and third place?
I'll let You know my choice later on, but I anticipate that I would have selected the winner too, but not for the first place. It's technically outstanding for sure, but a little too conventional as an artpiece, IMO.

OK, in the meanwhile I would express my choices:

1. Embracing our differences (great texture, lovely warm/ pastel colors and original artstyle)
2. The hour of Northern Light (fantastic cool, neon-like, expressionistic palette and cold atmospheric feeling and expressivity by means of vivid colors)
3. Still Life # 1 (excellent realistic technique rendering the texture and lighting of the various composition elements, glass in particular)

I enjoyed to read the very interesting interview with the winning artist who showed to be also a most kind and humanly valuable gentleman in his answers. I just keep wondering whether he used one or more real or photographic references to eventually set up that composition since, as he rightly says, composition is the fundamental key for a successful outcome.

I assume he did - he mentions disliking the reference image angle in the 'Least Favourite' features section (edit: and he shows reference photos onscreen during the tutorial video - so there you go!)
