    Sulky Races

    This is done from a photo in watercolor & ink. I use several layers.
    First I do my pen & ink work on the first layer, then start on my watercolors.
    I work from the background to the foreground.

    It's a lovely, synthetic sketching style. IMO I wouldn't use so massively that blue on the horse chest. It provides an unnecessary strong focus on what is already a main compositional spot (see golden section thumb rule) and distract too much from the rest and the dynamic feeling.
