    Looks like a stuffed animal made out of a white sock. Have you ever seen that kind of thing? Often times they were made out of pantyhose material, cleverly stitched to pinch in certain areas like a soft sculpture and stuffed with cotton batting to fill it out like a puppet or animal or figure.

    I would have posted an image of what I am talking about but alas the artist, even though there is reference to her, there are no images readily to hand. It was quite a few years ago that she was cooking.

    But I think you get the idea. Anyway, this little rascal looks the part of a stuffed animal buddy.
