    For Australia Day

I decided to paint a scene from the Flinders Ranges in my home state. As it's Australia day today, 26th Jan. I thought you might like to listen to this beautiful song written by Bruce Woodley a member of the Seekers and performed by them.

    Loved Australia

My son did his junior year abroad in Sydney . We visited and loved seeing some of the country. A beautiful scene and happy memories of Australia.

For 4:30sec I was proud Aussie with tear wellington the corner of me eye.

Thanks for the moment of national pride. And what ho! I spy mountains in that painting. Those kookaburras? (wouldn't know one if it sang the Campfire Girls song in their honor. More like crows?) So who is Matilda and why is she waltzing as opposed to the fox trot or something? I'm from a distant land, so forgive the obvious question.

    Nice scenic, Enug!

DA - Brought a tear to my eye too. I would have preferred it to our current National Anthem - Advance Australia Fair - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8tswkr25A0 which replaced the British anthem - 'God Save the Queen' in 1984.

Yes, they are crows - I'm sure you have seen Kookaburras - they were laughing in the large gum tree outside the place where we were having our morning coffee the other day and it felt just right on such a sunny day. I'll have to try painting one.

If you have a look here http://panique.com.au/trishansoz/wal...lda/waltz.html - make sure you scroll down and you will learn all you need to know about Waltzing Matilda.

Caesar- I will be visiting your beautiful country in April.
