Thank you Robyn, i just hope it turns out as well as the lynx, the fur is very rough and untidy on a Cheetah I hope i can recreate it.

I'm so pleased that you have shown us this WIP - I have always admired how you paint fur and now I look forward to seeing this leopard evolve. Keep posting please.

    Thank you Enug.
If I could I would enable script so you could watch the build up but I have found with doing so many strokes for the fur, I have lots of crashes and lose work. The ipads memory is not quite enough for such a big file with lots of data. I will post updates as I build the painting up.

    Update one

I am still finding it difficult to get a rough coat.

It's coming along - what patience you have; all those tiny strokes with the pen (?).

    Hi Saphire,

Fascinating to follow your progress and your fine, intricate technique but - and you may call me pedantic - every time I see the thread title it 'grates' a little because your 'Leopard' is actually a Cheetah! Sorry for being a pain; it's probably because I am a naturalist (i.e. not a naturist!) myself. This obviously doesn't detract one iota from your skill as an artist. Keep up the good work!

Liquid Len, thank you for correcting me, i thought it was wrong i will correct it.
Glad you like the progress, its a little slow now. I think I may have figured out how to get a more rough coat, I have made the pen bigger to 3% instead of 1%.

It does look difficult. Great job on it so far though. I think the fur is thicker than what you're painting it but that's hard to reproduce because there are so many shadows in it.
