    Montana Dusk

One of my first paintings with Art Rage. Trying to find a balance of details and painterly strokes. While I like the overall result, I lost some of the painterly feel I wanted in the sky. Just kept over working it. Great Program, working on loosening up.

Painted on a Surface Pro 2 with a Wacom Bamboo pen.

    All thoughts and critiques welcome.

If this is Your first Artrage painting I'd better consider to hang up my Artrage canvas and brushes then! It's fantastic, so congratulations and welcome!

Welcome! Really like this painting, looks as though it could be an opening shot in a movie, has a cinema like quality to it...at least to me!
Beautifully done and again 'Welcome'! Take care......

Great palette. Very cool use of lighting. Good one!

Thanks! Well... don't be fooled. This took me a very long time, restarted it probably 12 times and did an unknown amount of experiments on the side to try to achieve this. So while it is my first completed painting it represents many many many many hours of learning, trying, and failing.

There are so many ways the tools interact with each other and so many subtleties in the options you can get lost in fine tuning every approach. I am still working a lot on finding my core techniques.

Good for you working with all those tools and parts of the program. It is a great program to use!

Excellent job.... I feel your pain with the learning curve. What is really nice about AR is that your not wasting paint or supports when you "do over"...

That's the joy of Art Rage ... trying over and over and you don't have the discards to deal with. Just delete and start again.

Excellent painting and great to see! Welcome!
