    A Crested Bird.

    I did know the name of the type of this bird but it escapes me for now :

    The intense eye, the feathering, the colors all work together to make him one terrific bird!

    Looks like a Cattle Egret but I don't know what part of the world you are in so might be something else.

    I like teh subtle manipulation of the brush stiffness to get the different feather looks.

    Yes I agree, the beak is exceptional and I like the brushwork on the feathers; I find them so hard to do. I might experiment with that brush.
