Oh God of homeless things, look down
And try to ease the way
Of all the little weary paws
    That walk the world
    today.

Yeah! It does look a bit hot doesn't it. Not sure what was happening there - I think he might be kicking up some dust. It was the colour and misty outline of the horse that attracted me to the picture.

intriguing image Enug, you did a really nice interpretation, love the warm colors, it did remind me of a hot and dusty stable....

Actually, you nailed a look that was very popular in illustration out here for quite a while. Really gorgeous how you simplified the image and used that silhouette and line to contain a gorgeous mood piece -- really stunning. The source photo very much lead to where you took it, and you ran even farther with it. Those illustrations frequently captured that 'golden hour' and had shots of fishing or boating or something beautiful and atmospheric as inspired by sunset lighting in photography.

What a glowing image of a horse. It's almost like one of Helios' chariot horses (Helios being the Greek deity who pulled the sun across the sky in daytime with his chariot.) Here, the day is done, rode hard and put up wet to take up the same tomorrow. The horse seems so golden and luminous like something out of myth.

    Really really good, June.

    Hello June..
There was a painting or it may have been a photo I remember seeing a very long time ago, it portrayed a lone horse tied to a fence in Oklahoma during a dust storm in the late
thirties...Dark as night except for the sun burning through the dust casting an eerie glow on the lone horse....Excellent choice for a painting, nicely done!
    Take care,
    Steve
