    Panda Chill

    Or “Panda is coming!”

Originally posted on DA, for the ArtRage August contest. Done rather quickly (I was carrying this idea for a whole month, yet didn't have time to properly sit down and work on it). Played with watercolour tools more than I usually do — nice for some interesting texture, yet I thought the max brush size is till too small (I wanted to use it to wash the background — no such luck). Plus, I still need to find how to “dry” the already drawn parts (a “fan” tool ). Sometimes I want my watercolours to mix, other times I don't.

Still, I enjoyed the process, and I smile looking at the little joyful panda!

    Comments / feedback are welcome.

Cute picture Anton. It made me smile.

I'd suggest doing any watercolours you don't want to mix on a new layer so they don't interact with those beneath (apart from transparency of course).

That's one playful panda! Very charming. Really says that Winter can be playful. Good one!

    Thanks for your kind words!

Bertrude, thanks for the advice — I am shocked I didn't actually try it! Just tried it and it works, watercolours aren't mixed between layers. Nice!

That's what art's about, isn't it -- at some point it's about the relationship between the art and the viewer, sort of like speed dating. (D Akey)
