I'd like your thoughts on this piece I'm fooling around with.

It started out as a simple pen and ink but I got adventurous.

Seems like forever since I've been here. Haven't had the chance to do much with art for a while now.

Wonderful start to a gorgeous little fish. I've painted them before, and they're so full of character.

Very naturalistic looking.
The white needs some depth compared to the rest though.

A kind of tutorial would be super cool. Just how you build up the image

Thanks for the comments guys. @Cinchi: Yes, you're right. The white needs to be worked on. My reference shows an almost electric blue. Very nice.

As far as a WIP, well, I never actually intended to finish this. Heh . . . Just thought I'd give oils a shot as I know squat about them.

Now that I've got a little more confidence with the medium, I've got a few projects in mind that I do plan to finish. I'll save it step by step and ya'll can let me know if you think it's worth a WIP or not.
