"Autumn Glory II" My latest ArtRage painting which is one piece of a triptych - a 3-piece painting - 40" tall by 22" wide. This is a commissioned piece I am working on. I'm actually working on the second painting now, but this one is the middle one.

Super! Love the intense colors. Nothing quite like that white bark with gray flecks against fiery oranges and reds. And the compliment of greens or veridians is perfect and really stirs it up. One day I will go back East to see these kinds of spectacular Fall visions.
Very strong image. Love it. Would look really good large.

Thank you! I'm actually working on the right-side painting of the triptych now, that I've called "Autumn Glory III" - I'm painting them in a way that they can be sold individually and look good or people can get all three to go together.
Those that I'm doing the painting for wanted a forest scene, vibrant and bold and in Autumn colors. Below, are three shots of my work-in-progress of the painting that will be on the right, where I'm laying down the initial colors with heavy impasto finish. I'm uploading a video showing how I start applying the bark texture to the trees, hopefully that will be done soon.

Awesome stuff. Lovely tones and evocative colours. Real and at the same time dreamy.
Thanks so much!!
Very interesting process. One I would like to try.
Thank you! I uploaded a video on part of the process of how I create the texture for the trees. The first thing I do, which I didn't get to record, was to first rough sketch the trees in and then lay down the first layer of colors with various mixtures of paint with an impasto brush to give it that first layer of texture. I didn't have a good screen capture program when I started painting, but then got Snagit after I finished the one painting, so my video shows where I start with the tree bark texture. I'm posting over at the work-in-progress area as I am currently painting.

Excellent outcome indeed! The colors and composition of this artpiece are magnificent!
Panta rei (everything flows)!
Wow! Awesome tones and textures!
Beautiful trees and foliage, and I like the fact that you have sunlight dapples on the forest floor, adding the effect of lighting to the scene adds a professional level of realism to the scene![]()
