Thread: Layer thumbnail cat easter egg?

    Layer thumbnail cat easter egg?

I've had it a couple of times in the past few days, and I can't remember seeing it before: when rearranging layers by dragging them, sometimes a thumbnail image of a cat suddenly appears underneath the thumbnail of the layer that I'm moving at that moment.

The first time I consciously saw it, I thought I had just imagined it or that it was displayed because it was in some sort of image cache, and ignored it. But then it popped up again while working on the next drawing, so I tried to capture it. I can't remember seeing it before maybe a week ago, but maybe I just ignored it. As it turns out, I am actually going through a batch of pictures that need to have their layers re-arranged and sometimes worked on, so it makes some sense that it struck me only now.

So I tried to capture it. Here it is, appearing somewhere around 30 seconds. I'm quite certain that it's not an image that I used.
I'm just curious whether or not this is intentional

Ah, that's where he's gone. He's been with you Lúthien!
I was just thinking the other day he hadn't been around here much lately!
I admire you dedication in trying to record him.

    Ahhh thanks!

I did search for "cat layers" but I never saw that discussion in the results .. probably because there's so many hits on "layers"
I really like this sort of thing (and cats, too).

I think there is one more hidden easter egg, that Tycho, the cute cat will cover the screen if you leave it on. Forgot how to do it, has to ask Artrage team

Yeah, think he leaves paw prints everywhere. I have only seen him lurking in my layers, though.

The paw prints on the screen was an Easter Egg for ArtRage 2, where leaving the program running for an extended period would allow Tycho the opportunity to walk over your canvas and leave paw prints (they'd vanish once you made any changes though, so don't worry). There was a shortcut key to activate it, as well, but I don't recall the key combination. I don't believe that particular Easter Egg is in any of the AR programs beyond 2, so I wouldn't bother waiting around for it if you're using AR3 or AR4.

Spoilsport! You missed the perfect chance to make somebody stare at their canvas for four hours!

I just thought they'd have more fun painting on the canvas, instead of waiting for an invisible kitty to do it, lol. They could even draw their own paw prints with the paw prints sticker spray preset.

I just recalled someone mentioning it once. I didn't remember what version it was in.

I think it should be reimplemented in though! It's like my console games. Sometimes the little characters will sigh or yell at me or tap on the screen when I leave it still for a while. One even taps her foot impatiently.
