I remember when the movie Alien first came out reading about this wild sci-fi artist who designed the alien in Alien. As I recall, his lifestyle and interests were rather eccentric. Masterful, strangely erotic, visceral, mechanical art, and for all I could tell he was completely original. He may or may not have been, but it was early in my art journey and I certainly never saw anything like it before. Technically I was probably most impressed by his use of airbrush, which for me at the time was the tool of the star commercial artists, and I was fascinated by anyone who could use it well.
Geiger left a large imprint on the world.
