    Pin Views to the canvas

What does this refer to? Please show an example.

Pin Views to the canvas: Viewports that can be independently zoomed and panned for alternative views in to the canvas.

It's one of the new options available on the Reference panel. Basically, the "New View" option lets you have secondary screen for the same canvas you're working on. The purpose is to allow you the option of having both a full visual of your image, while also being able to work on it while zoomed in on a particular location of the painting. For example, in the photo edit I'm working on below, you can see that I've zoomed into the image to work on it up close. However, because I'd like to know how it's progressing as a whole, I've pinned a "New View" reference type to my canvas (using the button located at point "1", in the image), so I can see what the image looks like without needing to zoom in and out all of the time (point "2").

Someonesane has explained it pretty clearly, but if you are looking for more information about Views, there is a tutorial here as well: http://artrage.deviantart.com/art/Vi...ge-4-415760725
