    Jot touch not connecting

I have just run into a problem. i have been using the jot script so not used the touch for a while, the battery died on the script so picked up my Touch to continue. I swtched on bluetooth but found its not being seen in ArRage, except for picking menus, it is the original Touch. It will open and close menus and work as a normal stylus I can pick a tool to draw but nothing shows on the screen, I switch off bluetooth and it works as a standard stylus.

Are you using iOS7? The Jot Touch is no longer supported by that operating system (iOS6 is still fine).

If not, then this post provides instructions for connecting a stylus to ArtRage on the iPad http://forums.artrage.com/showthread...es-on-the-iPad

Thank you Hannarage, yes it is ios 7, the touch works as a standard stylus but not using it in bluetooth mode, will there be an update in the future for the original touch.

The original Touch hardware does not support iOS 7 so it's not something we can work around in ArtRage. Basically, you will need a new Touch if you want it to work in anything on the new OS (I believe they may offer a discount for upgrading the hardware but I don't know the details). We will be adding support for the newer Touch in an ArtRage for iPad update in the future.

Unfortunately I have the original Jot touch not the 4. It still works as a normal Jot but without pressure sensitivity, I have learnt since buying that this was a very expencive mistake getting the first version.

The Jot Touch 4 is compatible with the new version of iOS but the original Jot Touch isn't. When Adonit released the new version we considered implementing support for it but this would have led to us having to remove support for the original stylus for users of versions of iOS older than 5 and at the time we weren't ready to do that.

We are currently working on a big update that should include support for the new stylus along with a bunch of other things. Note that this won't make the original Jot compatible with iOS7, that's a Jot issue not an ArtRage issue (I believe the Bluetooth standard is different).
