Painting of Budda (my dog) :)

I've been wanting to paint my dog. His name is Budda and he's a little over 1yrs old. He is a huge part of my wife and i life....i enjoy painting abstract type of style/modern..I'm gonna start on something this weekend and was wondering if any one else wanted to give it a try so mayb I could get some tips and ideas off them..I've never painted a dog...thanks everyone..excited to see what you do!

I've tried but they never stand still long enough to let me finish, and anyway the paint comes right off their fur and onto the carpets. Love your dog though, wish I could have one.

Quick try... when i paint hair i try to follow the flow of it. This is my first animal picture
