You could try a couple of layers of colour and play about with there opacity, maybe some subtle watercolour, then try a top layer for outline? it seems like you have got a good base to work on.

Maybe you could add color to it's eye to make it really stand out.
I love the tones and textures.

Nice! That eye is particularly well done. I wonder if adding some detail to the feathers would make it pop even more? Thanks for sharing this, it looks like you had fun creating this one!
