    Waiting For The Morning Hunt

3600x3000 pxls at 300 ppi. 3 layers. Oils. Various refs. I started with the dog on the rock, then decided to try this sunlit forest bkg.

That's a pretty darn good "try" Skylar!

I like the knife work to smudge the trunks to give the effect of light. Very clever! I wouldn't have guessed that would work, but it does very well. I like the palette too. And very moody and I love mood.

He seems extremely calm, like a working dog. Feels like a seeing eye dog down at the duck blind.

I don't get the feeling that there's game anywhere within 10 miles though. This doggie is not into hunting today. He's blissed out. . . figuring that some bird will come wandering through sooner or later. And his master is such a crap shot that he figures why bother. There's kibble and beer back in the truck. Just digging the lighting. . .

    Nice one, Skyler.
