Katie, what an interesting departure for your usual style, she seems to be glowing and in deep shadows, love the orchid in her hair.. well done!

Hello Katie....Love that you've painted her in such a dream like atmosphere....
Is she looking away or towards something on the path this foggy night....
Nicely done friend,
Steve

That's what art's about, isn't it -- at some point it's about the relationship between the art and the viewer, sort of like speed dating. (D Akey)
It puts me in mind of one of those old romantic stories celebrating the persistence of memory. It's like wandering through the haze of time past, like trying to catch the attention of someone about to board a passage in the night fog. A very rich atmosphere has this one, Ms Coops. The lack of clarity and specific detail takes it out of the analytic and make it feel all the more in the realm of the emotional.

Delightful work as always....
What a faint, glowing subject! A ghostly appearance, a memory or a dream? Fascinating painting.
Panta rei (everything flows)!
Beautiful, Katie. An old world feel with the deep rich tones and warmth of the light.
Oh, I just realized I missed seeing this thread for so long, wonder where's it hiding..haha. Love to see new additions that I haven't seen. I love so much that Red Chess ballet one. Very creative and so many movements there, and yet gave me a storyline in this ballet. Love it !
Ooooh, I do enjoy this one Katie! So mysteriously beautiful!
Sometimes...I remember better with my eyes closed
