What I did when I should have been sleeping

This was unplanned, no tracing, I just started fooling around.

The last time I kept an open mind,
my brain fell out and the dog grabbed it.
Now it's full of dirt, toothmarks, and dog slobber.
No more open minds or dogs for me.www.gms9810.com/

This is a really quirky little composition George! Well balanced, a bit of mystery and surprise with the tiny door, and good perspective of the path leading inwards. Well done!

Thanks, it was completely unplanned. I try to draw at least 2 hours a day. I started doing something differently, All kinds of pre made color palettes are available based on real paint manufacturers but they never seem to mix well. I might take a grey and want to lighten it up but when I do it goes some nasty shade of blue or green or brown. I've stopped using those samples and just use the three primary colors, that way my greys are grey and act like it. Actually, I also made varying shades of grey from 100% black to 100% white in 10% steps. I figured that out about half way through this.

my brain fell out and the dog grabbed it.
