    Long tailed tit two ways

    Hello!

I did a watercolour painting of a long tailed tit and posted it in the Dueling thread. However, I have now also done a pencil drawing from the same reference photo and it came out much better - I guess it just shows I need more practice with watercolours. Both below so you can compare yourself! Hope you like it.

Well done, second one is wonderfully detailed. Great soft touch on feathers.

I would say both paintings I love. They gave me different feel, I like the first one of it's cuteness and lovely expression. Like the softness and details on the second one. Great paintings

Thank you all for your kind words! I really appreciate that, especially considering that I've seen some of your creations and they are great.

I want to draw/paint more animals and especially birds, but struggle with feathers and fur. I'm happy this appears to be a step in the right direction. And long tailed tits are just so impossibly cute it's hard not to paint them!

They are both brilliant in there respective mediums, but for me I love the second one it is so lifelike, delicate and fluffy, amazing.

Wonderful. Both are lovely. I do like the pencil one the most. Great work.
