Upon my discharge from the service, I had a season of languid days on the grass in the remote country very near the shore of Lake Superior pouring over a pocket book on Impressionism. It was in a place not unlike in your painting on one of my travels that I decided upon art as a profession. I was visiting a friend who was rarely at home, and while alone, I had the stereo speakers sitting in the windows, turned outward to the yard. As I listened to symphonies by Rachmaninoff, Grieg and Liszt, I found myself matching those paintings in the book to the scenes around me. And then there was a cascade of yet unpainted pictures welling up inside. The call of the muse was irrefutable. So it appears I got drafted again, but into a very different service.

Super feeling in this painting! We all had our Claude Monets one form or another, eh, Pat?
    You captured the mood beautifully.

I always felt as if his paintings were alive, Pat. I love his work too.
    Beautiful painting, and so peaceful.

    Thumbs up

Fine tribute to a great master. Combination of colors give this a great feel. Your signature is subtle and blends very well without any distraction. Well done Pat.........
