    Odin the Wanderer

Odin was many things. The king of the gods, the all-father, the god of war, death, poetry, magic, and wisdom. He was also a prankster. He would traverse the Nine Worlds in various guises, often as an old man in a brimmed hat, and cause all sorts of trouble. In the form of a ferryman, Odin engaged an unsuspecting Thor (a short-tempered god and Odin's own son) in an infuriating argument, and ultimately refused him passage across the river.

As the wanderer, Odin was the inspiration for Tolkien's Gandalf.

The above sketch got me thinking that I should depict the scene I described, where Odin (disguised as Harbaror the Ferryman) denies an angry Thor passage across a river. I sketched it out in Artrage, but unfortunately my skills as a painter are limited, so I had to go to Illustrator to work on it more. If only Artrage has some vector capabilities, I'd never leave it.
