Love the sure strokes in the mountains. They're deliberate and confident. That the shapes are soft edged sort of implies a feeling of no threat whatsoever - emphasizing to me that this hawk is a master of the updrafts and has plenty to eat.

Hawk is beautifully detailed and visually stands apart for several reasons, color temperature, detail, placement etc. Great visual hierarchy again.

In Puerto Rico they thrive and are called " Guaraguao ". Always have a seen a pair on my land soaring in circles and screeching to each other. I once witnessed a pair on a hunt. One plucked a small chick in his talons and take off. After a few moments another one showed up and flew below the one that had the chick. As if a game the one with the chick released it and the other one caught it in mid air, amazing sight.

Thanks for all the comments on this artwork. Added it to my art website.................
