Difference: Import Image File versus Import Image File to layer

    Hi there

There is a difference in how AR 402 import an image when using Import Image File and Import Image File to layer.

NOTE: It is in the case when the image to be imported is larger than the canvas!

Using "Import Image File" AR scales the image to fit the canvas.

Using "Import Image File to layer" AR does not scale the image but uses the middle part of the image in the size of the canvas, thus leaving parts out.
Using "Transform Layer" does not help because only the middle part of the image is present.

Import Image creates a new canvas the same size as the imported image while Import Image To Layer imports to the existing canvas. If the image imported to a layer is larger than the canvas, it appears at native size which means that the ends of it hang off the edge of the canvas. However, if you use the handles on the transform rig that appears when the image is imported to the layer, you can scale it down so that the imported image fits the canvas - The edges of the image are still there, the transform rig is just restricting its size to the canvas.
