    Lily In The Garden

This a really complicated one, and I was initially very intimidated by the detail that was required, plus trying to render it in a watercolourey style. But I am attacking each section with gusto and working through the problems, and I'm quite pleased with the effects I am getting. The brain is problem solving all the time, even when I'm not glued to my computer chair!

I was really pedantic about using my reference photo, because all the details and shadows would have been too time consuming to draw up and it was getting the effect I was after that was more important. So I just blocked in all the colours and got to work.

I have barely got started on Lily, and am concentrating on the greenery. She'll come last.

More refinement needed at the back yet, but I'm pretty happy so far.

    Time for a coffee!

    Thanks Geoff!

Well, I have resolved the grass somewhat. It's hard to do a reasonably close up of grass without doing lots of stems, and I am a bit of a detail freak, plus I wanted to keep my watercolourey look too.

    Works OK, I think.

Next problem is how to get Lily's hair so it doesn't look 'painted', just 'washed' on.

Oh Albert, my head hurts! I think it's 'wine o'clock' at my house, and have a fresh look later.
