Sad Day - At Peace at Last

My beautiful dog Lily had two major seizures this morning, the first she has ever had.

I painted this while I waited for the specialist to ring.

    Hope your dog is ok
Try to see as many angles of vision as possible...no single one of us has a "handle" on the whole picture.

Sorry to hear about this, one of Siberians many years back suffered with seizures so lots of experience with this.
Firstly, often there is an underlying cause for the seizures, not necessarily that it is epilepsy.
Secondly, although it can be difficult for the owner to handle during an episode, many can be treated with medication.

So sorry about Lily, copespeak. I hope the situation is improving now.
The painting really depicts the shock and bewilderment of it all. The mobile phone gives hope of help on the way. Please keep us updated. Sending you kind thoughts,Lin.

I can understand You somehow feel the pain and ache You imagine Your poor dog has to stand, even worse, the fear for undergoing such a cruent, though necessary treatment. There isn't any way to shield whom we love or care for from bad experiences, pains etc. All we may do and they may benefit from is to be there, share and support their own psychological resources. Life is what it is, marvellous and thorny as well, but I sincerely wish all the best for prompt recovery.

So sorry about Lily's problem. I had a dog who had seizures too. The vet put him on Valium which seemed to keep the seizures at bay for years. They probably have better treatments now, so I'm sure your vet will find the underlying problem and resolve it and Lily will be good as new. Your painting did a great job depicting what I thought my dog was experiencing when it happened to him--and how I felt watching it, too!
