    Nice articulation in the leaves. Rose petals are more challenging for most of us. . . at least to me owing to the subtlety.

    What initially comes to mind for me when I look at this is a botanist's illustration of a strain of rose. I have a book on them and can appreciate the scientific clarity. Takes an artistic-scientific mindset to go in and really describe those gorgeous shapes. I personally didn't do it often yet I really admire those who do flowers. Seems like such a natural thing for artists to go to the colors flowers give us.

    This is way cool. Like a cross between an illustrator and the impressionist Monet. Fun cross-pollenization.
