    Lady portrait

Done from a ref photo and a rough trace of face outline to get the various elements into approximately the right places.
Although a modern lady, my choice of skin tones was an experiment in giving a slightly aged look to the piece.
The hair was sticker brush and pen tool

Limey, I love the way you have captured the light falling on her face and shoulder. And her hair is wonderfully painted. Fo me, the skin tone is beautiful. The pose intrigues me. I wonder what she was looking at before she turned to look at us!

Well done! This is really nice work. Faces are so difficult to look convincing and she does.

wonderful work here Geoff, I like the slightly aged tone to the skin and background, so your experiment worked out well . a beautiful portrait..

WOW...another masterful portrait...you captured the lighting and the skin tones and hair perfectly, but what is that hanging off her ear...LOL...exceptionally well done my friend !!
Try to see as many angles of vision as possible...no single one of us has a "handle" on the whole picture.
