    ArtRage and CPU cycles

    Hi guys

I notice that in the activity monitor on my mac (MacOSX 10.8.1 and ASP latest version) that ArtRage continually is using 15% to 20% of the CPU cycles even when it is unopened with no painting but active in the dock.

Is this normal - that seems resource hungry? - or do I have something misconfigured?

The application has a 'heartbeat' running that monitors various things in the app. When it's in the dock the heartbeat is still running but it's not doing anything, this can cause it to look as if the app is taking up machine cycles when in fact it's not. You shouldn't see any performance hit with other apps when ArtRage is just idling in the background.

    Thanks Matt.

No, it doesn't seem to cause a performance hit.

    Happy New Year.
