    Tree Stumps Mr Rainier Park

The below picture is along a path to a waterfall in Mr Rainier US Park. From a picture I took, I drew the stumps and tree bases and then added foreground texture and plants. I took out a lot of the background and added more trees and the sky. The sky was a learning lesson for me. I hope you enjoy the illustration/painting.

This is really neat what with the unusual choice of colours that really works.
Now need to add some funny characters .

I agree with Geoff. This is a fun pallet of colors. Thanks for sharing it up.

    I like the sky!

I also especially like the way you did the pine trees in the background.

Oh, I wish I could remember the illustrator popular in the late 80s who used this style. . .

Very graphic arts, simplified to shapes that yet represent things in depth and accuracy. The composition and design then becomes the thing, doesn't it. I love it. Well done.

This is a very appealing painting. The color scheme and textures are interesting. I hope you will be doing more in this vein. Well done!

Thank you all for your kind comments.

D Akey, yes, I am trying to get down to the minimal, yet just enough so the viewer will be able to still see the objects. I have different things I would like to try for the future.
