    The Misguided Quest

The thought of a knight wetting himself at the sight of his foe cracked me up so I drew it. Name: Finished-Adjusted.jpg

Hahaha. Well done, good Sir Rusty. I'm sure he wasn't the first to oxidize his undies at the sight of yon fire breathin' dragon.

Your drawing style is really cool. Like any knight worth his salt, the artist acknowledges the hierarchy and pays homage to the king (of the pic). This one reads a lot better than the one with the guy at the well about to be attacked.

On composition and staging, I would perhaps direct you to Gustav Dore as probably one of the best examples of staging. This particular drawing you have in this thread is not too bad though. But it might be fun to take a look at Dore to expand your bag o' tricks. Squint at these as well as look at the detail to get an idea of how he breaks it down.

Thank you all so much. This is a new style I'm trying to work out. I was doing a lot of stiff really perfect lined cartoons and I've gotten really bored with it so I want to get a style down that is fun and a lot quicker to produce. But like said it needs a lot of work before it could marketable. I will look up Gustav Dore and study his work some. Thanks again for the comments and crits
