    City at sunset

I can't seem to get away from the big city scene 'cuz I reckon it's one of my fav subjects. This one started as a series of horizontal and vertical lines drawn at random. Fun!
This one, I must confess was done mostly in Water Soluble Oil Pastels, scanned and enhanced in Artrage. I really like oil pastels because of their portability and entry level cost is very little! This was done on newsprint which works well. I hope you like it!

    City at Sunset Mangle

I found the textures of the oil pastel so interesting that I zoomed in on the first painting and did a screen shot and used a few quick tricks + paint tube mangling to get this woodsy scene. Just messing around!

Very curious and wonderful palette and technique. Great work. More please! The first one feels like a real place seen through an artist's eye as someone receiving from the view to interpret, whereas the second feels like that is coming from the inside out, as if wanting to do an idea of woods, close in and intimate, as with a play.

I like the palette and your choice of colors
Try to see as many angles of vision as possible...no single one of us has a "handle" on the whole picture.

I love your choice of colours especially in the one with the trees and I too would love to see more

Neal I love oil pastels too , I didn't know there were water soluble ones too...I used to use turpenoid on the works to make washes etc.. I love the colors and textures.. I think it is cool the richness and textural qualities carry over in the scanned image and the enhancements in AR... nice workflow with great results.
